Hei Kakī Kawata me Pounamu- Silver & Greenstone Necklace

Sands Jewellery House

Deep within the alluvial beds along the West Coast of Te Wai Pounamu, gold and silver is found alongside pounamu. European settlers brought metal-working to Aotearoa, making the combination of precious metals with greenstone naturally complementary and a true fusion of pākehā and Māori cultures.

The greenstone was carved by Samuel Potter from kahurangi pounamu sourced from Arahura of Te Wai Pounamu, Aotearoa, with the sterling silver setting crafted by John Mayo. It measures 60mm by 16mm and comes on a sterling silver chain.
