Mau Kakī Kawata me Pounamu - Silver & Greenstone Necklace

Sands Jewellery House

Deep within the alluvial beds along the West Coast of Te Wai Pounamu, gold and silver is found alongside pounamu. European settlers brought metal-working to Aotearoa, making the combination of precious metals with greenstone naturally complementary and a true fusion of pākehā and Māori cultures.

The cabochon was carved by Samuel Potter from tangiwai pounamu sourced from Te Wai Pounamu, Aotearoa, with the sterling silver setting crafted by John Mayo. It measures 55mm by 34mm and comes on a sterling silver chain.
