Deep within the alluvial beds along the West Coast of Te Wai Pounamu, gold and silver is found alongside pounamu. European settlers brought metal-working to Aotearoa, making the combination of precious metals with greenstone naturally complementary and a true fusion of pākehā and Māori cultures.
The greenstone rei puta was carved by Alex Sands from Marsden flower raukaraka pounamu sourced from Marsden of Te Wai Pounamu, Aotearoa, with the 9ct gold cap crafted by John Mayo. It measures 61mm by 16mm and comes on a 9ct gold chain.
