Hei tiki represent the form of the first human, worn by Māori they are a prestigious gift. Hei tiki are a remembrance  of Tupuna (ancestors) that guide us forward. Hei tiki can be seen as ornaments of honor and status.

This Aotea stone hei tiki was carved by Alex Sands and measures 90mm by 50mm by 8mm. The colouring on this tiki is a mix of grey and green with a bit of sparkle.

Aotea stone is a rare stone found only in one area of South  Westland, NZ.  Also known as Hine, the stone is a blend of kyanite(blue), fushsite(green) and Quartz (white) and can often have a glittery appearance.
