Koru are the quintessential pattern of Māori design. Taken from the fern frond, are found throughout the forests of Aotearoa, Koru represents the growth, the potential and peace found in the whenua (land). They are gifts of love and friendship.
This piece was carved from bovine bone by Peter Mitchell and is hung by an adjustable hand-plaited wax cord. It measures approximately 44 x 32 x 7 mm.
