Hei tiki represent the form of the first human, worn by Māori they are a prestigious gift. Hei tiki are a remembrance of Tupuna (ancestors) that guide us forward. Hei tiki can be seen as ornaments of honour and status. 

This Hei Tiki is carved from Aotea stone, a rare stone found only in one area of South Westland, NZ. Also known as Hine, the stone is a blend of kyanite(blue), fushsite(green) and Quartz (white) and can often have a glittery appearance. 

This Tiki has beautiful layers of blue, green and white.  It is hung by an adjustable muka hand platted cord and hand carved by Yuki Tanaka.
