This is the booking page for the Carve Your Own pounamu workshop for a hei toki - an adze. Create your own taonga (treasured object) with the guidance of our expert carvers, using authentic pounamu (New Zealand greenstone). You don’t need any experience - you’ll shape the stone yourself, step by step, with our support.
This workshop is designed for entry-level carvers with zero carving experience, and will take up to 3-4 hrs. In this workshop we will cover the basic skills necessary for stone-carving and will guide participants through the process of creating a basic traditional Māori pendant - the hei toki: an adze. By the end of the workshop, participants will have a fully completed and bound greenstone hei toki to take home.
