Koru are the quintessential pattern of Māori design. Based on the form of the unfurling fern frond, found throughout the forests of Aotearoa, koru represent the growth, the potential and peace found in the whenua (land). They are gifts of love and friendship.
This taonga was hand-carved by Yuki Tanaka and measures 51mm in diameter.
