The toki epitomises the artistry and skill of the craftsman, protector and provider. Of great mana (prestige), to wield the toki is to wield strength.
This hei toki was carved by Jeremy Walsh from tangiwai pounamu sourced from Nelson of Te Wai Pounamu, Aotearoa. It measures 71mm by 24mm, has a semi-gloss finish, and is bound with an adjustable hand-braided polyester cord.
