Hei Matau are fish hooks fashioned in the style of Māui. These are symbols of abundance, prosperity, and wealth. They are also considered to provide good luck and safety on water and are therefore thoughtful gifts for travellers.
Flower Jade (Raukaraka) is named after the blossom of a Karaka tree. It is found exclusively in the West Coast of the South Island, NZ. Flower Jade is usually deep green with beautiful inclusions of yellow and orange.
It is hung by a tan adjustable hand-platted cord, which has been bound on using a slip knot method and has a polished finish.
