A beautiful mix of colour makes this pounamu pendant something a little different.
Carved from Totoweka greenstone, Totoweka means "the blood of the weka", and is characterised by red streaks or spots through the stone.
Roimata in the form of teardrops, are a Tohu (sign) of our emotions in times of joy, sadness, celebration and tribulation. They remind us of our humanity, our history, and our tipuna(ancestors) who support us going forward.
All our jewellery is individually crafted in our Hamilton studio, ensuring every piece is unique.
This piece was carved by Samuel Potter and the sterling silver setting is by John Mayo. It comes on a 54cm silver chain plated with rhodium (which helps prevent tarnishing) rather than the cord as shown in the photos.
This piece measures: 36mm (L) x 18mm (W) x 10 (D)
