Pekapeka are ancient carved forms, and are the representation of the native bat of Aotearoa.

Worn on special occasions it is carved as a twin manaia. 

This pounamu pekapeka is carved by Alex Sands, and has paua inlay eyes.  It is hung on a tan adjustable hand-braided wax cord and measures roughly 71 x 53 mm.
