Dolphins are a symbol of a  kaitiaki (guardian) of the realm of Tangaroa (God of the Ocean). In the Maori world, they are  a sign of abundance and joyfulness.

This piece is hung by an adjustable hand platted cord, it was designed and hand carved from cow bone by Peter Mitchell
