This Kera Wēra Rei Niho - Carved Killer Whale Tooth Pendant features ornate kowhaiwhai along with whakapapa notches that represent ancestral lineage.
It was hand-carved by Alex Sands and measures 11 x 3.7 cm. It hangs from a black adjustable hand-braided waxed cord.
Rei Niho symbolises the intimate connection between Maori and Tohorā (whale).
