An elegant oval necklace crafted with Kawakawa pounamu, an intensely dark green stone. This piece of stone presents as black.
Kawakawa is named after the leaf of the Kawakawa tree.

This piece was carved by Samuel Potter and the sterling silver setting is by John Mayo. It comes on a 44cm silver chain plated with rhodium (which helps prevent tarnishing) rather than the cord as shown in the photos.
