Kauri gum is sometimes known as New Zealand amber, it is the fossilized tree sap of the Kauri tree which is the corner stone of the indigenous forests of the upper North Island.

Roimata in the form of teardrops, are a Tohu (sign) of our emotions in times of joy, sadness, celebration and tribulation. They remind us of our humanity, our history, and our tipuna(ancestors) who support us going forward.

This piece measures at 105 x 18 x 11 mm.

It was bound, hand-carved and polished by Conrad Henderson.
