Inanga Abstract Heart Koru Pendant Necklance - Stephen Myhre

Sands Carving Studio

PKA1684S

This abstract form was carved by Stephen Myhre and resembles a Koru Heart.

It is made from Inanga Pounamu. This variety of pounamu takes its name from the freshwater fish Inanga, and is pearly-white or grey-green in colour and varies from translucent to opaque.

The koru represents creation and is based on the shape of an unfurling fern frond. Its shape conveys the idea of perpetual movement, and its inward coil suggests a return to the point of origin.

This piece measures 11.6 x 11.6 cm.
