PCO1755S

Traditional Maori heru are combs worn as functional hair ornaments by both men and women.  Often the decorations on pre-European heru were a symbol of mana and prestige.

This heru has been carved from cow bone/beef bone by Alex Sands.

The heru measures approximately 176mm L x 37mm W.
