This stunning Bowenite Ipu Kohatu - Large Pounamu Bowl measures roughly 315 x 220  x 45 mm and was hand-carved by Alex Sands.

Pounamu is a highly valued stone also called greenstone or New Zealand jade. It is treasured by Māori because it is strong, beautiful, a sign of status/power, and believed to be sacred. It is only found in the South Island, New Zealand.
