Kawakawa Greenstone Teardrop Silver Necklace

PKA1042S

A delicate teardrop carved from kawakawa pounamu.  Kawakawa is an intensely dark green stone. This pounamu is named after the leaf of the Kawakawa tree.  When worn the pounamu will appear quite dark, almost black, but hold it up to the light and the beautiful green shines through.

All our jewellery is individually crafted in our Hamilton studio, ensuring every piece we make is unique.

This piece was carved by Samuel Potter and the sterling silver setting is by John Mayo.  It comes on a 44cm silver chain plated with rhodium (which helps prevent tarnishing) rather than the cord as shown in the photos.

This piece measures: 18mm (L) x 12mm (W)
