Mau Taringa are earrings that are carved in both traditional and contemporary styles. Mau Taringa are gifts for those we care for and when worn, remind the wearer of those who gifted them.

Carved from Totoweka greenstone, Totoweka means "the blood of the weka", and is characterised by red streaks or spots through the stone.  As light hits these earrings they will reveal more of the contrasting colours within the stone.

This pair was carved by Nikki Shaw and measures 67 x 8 x 3mm.
