This beautiful Īnanga Pounamu Hei Toki is ornately inlayed with Kōwhaiwhai motifs of fine Silver which has been hand-beaten into the pounamu.
The centre is inlayed with three cabochons of three different types of pounamu stone: Īnanga, Kahurangi and Kawakawa. The bail is made from hand-woven silver wire that has been wrapped and soldered and suspended from a 50 cm Sterling Silver Belcher Chain.
This artistic piece was carved by Alex Sands and the metalwork was done by John Mayo. When it's not being worn, it sits on a handcrafted native timber base with brass fittings. This Hei Toki Pendant measures roughly 11.6 cm long x 3.8 cm wide. The wooden base measures 20.5 in width x 5.8 in length.
