This gorgeous hand-carved Rimu Pounamu Kumete - Carved Native Timber and Greenstone Bowl measures 340 x 76 x 130 and features a lovely disc of pounamu with gradient shades of green at its centre.

The wood was turned by Paul Anderson, the pounamu was hand-carved by Alex Sands, the wood detailing was carved by Raj Irvin.

This is a beautiful item to showcase at your home and/or would make a unique wedding or housewarming gift.

Rimu is a much valued timber. Maori used it to produce long spears for personal defence and to defend pa sites and for traditional Maori tattoos (moko). Maori people also believed the wood could help keep away evil spirits, particularly, at night.
