Pekapeka are ancient carved forms, and are the representation of the native bat of Aotearoa. It is said that Māui-tikitiki-a-Taranga, the great trickster, would take on the form of the Pekapeka. Worn on special occasion it is carved as a twin mania.
This piece is hung on a muka adjustable hand-braided wax cord and measures 65 x 82mm.
