Along with its role as a kaitiaki (protector) of earth, sea and sky, manaia are spiritual beings which act as messengers between the earthly world and the spiritual. With ethereal presence and energy, manaia protects the wearer and helps maintain spiritual balance.
This manaia was carved by Aden Hogland from a piece of raukaraka pounamu, with golden clouds running patterns up the body of the kaitiaki to truly bring it to life. The manaia pendant measures 57mm by 40mm and has a gloss finish.
