Hei Matau are fish hooks fashioned in the style of Māui. These are symbols of abundance, prosperity, and wealth. They are also considered to provide good luck and safety on water, and are therefore thoughtful gifts for travellers.

It is hung by an adjustable black hand platted cord.

This piece was hand carved by Jeremy Walsh and measures 112 x 83 x 14mm.
