This piece was carved from Black Maire wood and features muka (tan) wax cord detailing. It measures roughly 265 x 30 mm.

Pūtōrino are the embodiment of Hine Raukatauri (Goddess of music). Pūtōrino produces both a male and female voice, with a third spirit voice found between them. The tangi (cry) of the Pūtōrino are unique to the indigenous Iwi of Aotearoa.
