A koropepe is a traditional Māori design resembling an eel or fish. It symbolises new beginnings, growth, and fertility, and often represents ancestral spirits or guardians.
This piece is carved from beef bone, has paua inlay eyes and measures approximately 42 x 32 x 4 mm.
This antiqued beef bone Pekapeka is carved by Yuri Terenyi, and has paua inlayed eyes. It is hung on a black adjustable cord. It can be worn either side - with both sides showing different colourings of the eyes.
