Kapeu are traditional earrings worn by both genders and indicate that an individual holds mana (prestige). Kapeu can be further decorated with feathers to enhance their appearance. These taonga were a sign of status, leadership and authority.

This taonga was carved by Sam Potter from kōkopu pounamu.
