This Whakaruruhau Pounamu - Notched Greenstone Shield Pendant is bound by a muka (tan) coloured adjustable wax cord.

The notches can represent whanau (family).

Whakaruruhau are breastplates or shield adornments that represent strength and leadership. They are a taonga of personal protection that share their beauty to the Te Ao Tūroa (outer world).
