Pūtātara - Conch Shell Trumpet

This hand-carved pūtātara features a tōtara wooden mouthpiece carved with a double wheku design, engraved with unaunahi and inlaid with paua eyes.
The wood is bound onto the shell using a hand-plaited three plait decorated with feathers.
It measures 28cm x 14cm and was hand-carved by Alex Sands.
