Shark teeth have been worn by Polynesians and Māori since the earliest exploration of Polynesia. They connect to the spirit of the shark, its tenacity and courage. The colour kura (red/scarlet) is a sacred colour that traditionally added value to an object.
This pair has sterling silver hooks and are capped in traditional red wax.
