Kapeu pendant made from greenstone and bound by an adjustable wax cord.

Kapeu are traditional earrings worn by both genders and indicate that an individual holds mana (prestige). Kapeu can be further decorated with feathers to enhance their appearance. These taonga were a sign of status, leadership and authority.
