The toki epitomises the artistry and skill of the craftsman, protector and provider. Of great mana (prestige), to wield the toki is to wield strength.
This hei toki was carved by Jeremy Walsh from onewa (basalt) sourced from Te Kuiti of Aotearoa. It measures 115mm by 45mm, engraved with ritorito and notches using whakapapa notches, has a matt finish, and is bound with an adjustable hand-braided cord.
