Koauau are a form of flute used in traditional healing ceremonies, in welcoming new life, and escorting departing spirits. The tangi (sound) of the koauau were also known to mimic native manu (birds) and draw in people from further afield

This piece measures 15.1 x 1.8cm

This Antiqued Deer Bone Kōauau is fully engraved and was hand-carved by Yuri Terenyi.
