Rei Puta are chiefly taonga traditionally carved from the teeth of Tohorā (whale). Rei Niho carved from pounamu maintains the beauty of the traditional form, symbolising the intimate connection between Maori and Tohorā.
This piece is hung by an adjustable tan hand-platted cord and was Hand-crafted and carved by Alex Sands.
This piece measures at 10.5 x 6 cm.
